DIRECTOR IDRISS Hello! I’m A.Christopher Edmond {Director Idriss}, a passionate film and music video director based in Kampala, Uganda. I’ve dedicated my life to crafting visual stories that resonate with audiences, celebrate culture, and push creative boundaries. My Journey ; I grew up surrounded by the vibrant rhythms and colors of Kampala’s streets. From a young age, I was captivated by the power of images and sound to transport viewers to new worlds. I started experimenting with my friends old video camera, filming short skits with neighborhood friends and editing them on a borrowed laptop. Those early projects ignited my imagination and set me on the path to becoming a director. Career Highlights Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with talented artists, producers, and production teams across Uganda and beyond. Some of my proudest achievements include: Directing award-nominated music videos for top Ugandan musicians Creating poignant short films showcased at regional film festivals Leading full-scale commercial productions for brands looking to engage African audiences Mentoring aspiring filmmakers through workshops and one-on-one coaching Each project has taught me new lessons in storytelling, teamwork, and technical craft. I believe that every frame should serve the narrative, and every cut should honor the emotion of the moment. My Creative Approach My work is guided by three core principles: Authenticity I strive to tell real stories that reflect the richness and diversity of Ugandan culture. Collaboration Filmmaking is a team effort. I value the ideas and expertise of cinematographers, editors, stylists, and performers. Innovation I embrace new tools, techniques, and perspectives to keep my work fresh and engaging. Whether I’m directing a high-energy music video or a reflective short film, I focus on building genuine connections with my subjects and creating an immersive experience for viewers.
